FAQ

The stuff you should know before you grab your stuff.

  • Our Camp for Two rental includes the essential camping gear two people need for an easy weekend outside.

You'll get a roomy 4-person tent, two sleeping bags, two sleeping pads, two camp chairs, a camp table, butane stove, cookware and utensils, LED lantern, cooler, footprint tarp, setup tools, and cleanup essentials.

You bring the food, clothes, personal items, and good company. We’ll handle the gear.

  • You can choose your rental dates when making your reservation based on current gear availability. Your reservation shows exactly when your equipment is ready for pickup and when it needs to be returned.

Need more time once you're out there? Contact us as soon as possible. Extensions may be available if another camper hasn't already reserved the gear.

  • A refundable security deposit is required to protect against lost, missing, or damaged rental equipment. The deposit amount will be shown before you complete your reservation and is separate from your rental price.

Once your gear is returned on time and in good condition, your deposit will be released according to the terms of your rental agreement.

  • You don't need to deep-clean your gear, but we ask that you return it reasonably tidy and free of trash, food, and excessive dirt. Empty your cooler, remove your belongings, shake loose dirt from the tent, and pack everything back with your kit.

We'll handle the normal cleaning and sanitizing between rentals. Excessively dirty, wet, or improperly returned equipment may require an additional cleaning fee.

  • Normal outdoor wear is expected, but customers are responsible for equipment that is lost or damaged beyond normal use. We'll inspect returned gear and determine whether an item can be cleaned, repaired, or needs to be replaced.

Any applicable charges will follow the terms of your rental agreement.

  • Late returns may result in additional rental or late fees because that equipment may be reserved for another camper. If something changes during your trip, contact us as soon as you know you'll need more time.

If the equipment is available, we may be able to extend your reservation rather than have you rush back.

  • Renting can save you money when you only camp occasionally or don't want to invest in equipment you may rarely use. A complete camping setup can require a tent, sleeping bags, pads, chairs, cooking equipment, lighting, a cooler, and other accessories before you ever leave home.

Renting lets you use what you need for the trip without buying, maintaining, and storing it afterward.

    Less stuff. More outside.

Beginner’s Guide to Camping

Thinking about camping but have no idea where to start? This beginner’s guide walks you through choosing a campsite, packing the right gear, planning your trip, and getting outside without making it more complicated than it needs to be.

We Make It Easier to Get Out There

Getting outside shouldn’t feel like another thing you have to figure out.

For almost 20 years, I’ve been the person planning the camping trips, packing the gear, starting the fire, and helping friends who had never camped before.

A lot of the time, I’d lend friends everything they needed so they had no excuse not to come.

They just had to show up.

Once we got there, I’d handle the cooking and the fire. Everyone else could eat, relax, play some board games, sit under the stars, and wake up somewhere incredible.

That experience is what inspired Out There.

Life keeps us inside. At work. At school. At home. In traffic. On our phones.

Sometimes you just need to get out.

But getting outside can feel like a lot when you don’t know what gear you need, where to go, or how to get started.

We want to make that part easier.

Our camping kits are based on the same simple setup I’ve used for nearly two decades. They include the gear you actually need for a comfortable weekend outside without buying a garage full of stuff.

I wouldn’t call myself an outdoorsy person.

I just know how good it feels to sit around a fire, sleep under the stars, wake up somewhere beautiful, and forget about everything else for a while.

You don’t need to become an outdoors person.

You just need an easier way to get out there.
